Emergency Care CoursesKnowing how to respond to a medical emergency is one of the most important skills a
person can possess. In addition, having personnel on-site that are properly trained in
First Aid/CPR/AED's greatly increases the chance of survival. In fact, the first five
minutes following an injury -- and the immediate response from those on the scene -- can
mean the difference between life and death.
OSHA's First Aid Standard (29 CFR 1910.151) requires that employers guarantee adequate
access to emergency care for employees. It states that employers insure that employees
receive treatment from a qualified facility, physician or emergency responder:
- Within 3-4 minutes if there is reasonable anticipation of severe injury (electrocution,
suffocation, major burns) in the workplace.
- Within 15 minutes in all other cases.
If there is no facility or service capable of providing said emergency care within
those time parameters, the standard requires employers to train personnel on-site to
render first aid and provide first aid supplies.
ACS offers First Aid /CPR/AED courses that meet
OSHA requirements and can be your source for training employees on the latest skills,
techniques, and expertise in life-saving procedures.

has a network of training agencies whose instructors perform a critical role by educating
and training the public on all aspects of reducing injury and illness on the job and
improving safety in the workplace. These training agencies deliver NSC
First Aid Institute (FAI) courses to the general
public, organizations, and corporations.
ACS is designated as a NSC Public Training Agency.
